NOVENA TO ROSA MYSTICA FOR PRIEST AND RELIGIOUS

DAILY PREPARATION
Maria, Rosa Mystica, fragrant rose of mysticism, wonderful flower of divine knowledge, of purity and blinding beauty, of brilliant, shining glory, of power and overwhelmingly blessing love: we kneel before you to pray , to look, to listen; to look at you and to inhale your heavenly perfume until we have, above all, taken something of your immaculate, pure, and perfect being into our inner selves; to pray that we should no longer, or above all, ask only for your gifts, for the salvation of, and help for, our body and soul; but to pray that we may become like you; that we may listen attentively and closely to every single word of yours which you have spoken not only in the past but even more so in the present, more frequently and more imploringly.

We do not always want to talk and beg but to listen and heed what you say, what your picture is already saying to us and asking us to do. We want to listen to your quiet motherly voice when it speaks to us so tenderly and consolingly with motherly understanding and warning. We want to open our hearts to you when He is looking into the bottom of our soul, to remain steadfast, to force ourselves not to say again we have no time; instead to endure your sad glance even if we should blush and have to cast down our eyes...

Mary, fragrant Rose of Mysticism, please help us to take a look inside ourselves and to examine ourselves, how we shall be able to bear your glance and stand firm before you; help us to know ourselves better, especially in those areas of thought and deed which displease you; help us to become more like you. We promise that we shall try. We also promise to imitate you. Please help us to work on ourselves, to let your love shine wherever we are able to work, but especially for the priests and religious.

Let us Pray
O Almighty and merciful God, who for the triumph of Thy mercy and the salvation of souls hast granted to the Immaculate Virgin Mary unlimited recourse to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, grant, we beseech Thee that by Her prayers and intercession we may avoid the contagion of sin and serve thee with a pure heart, and that we may live and die in Thy Holy Love.

O Lord Jesus Christ, Our Mediator with the Father, Who hast deigned to appoint the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mystical Rose, Thy Mother and the Mother of thy Church, to be our Mother also and our Mediatrix with thee, graciously grant that whosoever goes to Thee in quest of blessings may be gladdened by obtaining them all through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Thou Who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, one God for ever and ever. Amen.

O Mother, you are leading the way for us in your love for your Son, Jesus Christ. Together with you, let us help the afflicted religious but especially our priests. They have the most sacred faculty to transform wine and bread into the Body of Your Son; they are the intermediaries between God and us; they bear the great responsibility for our souls. But we are also responsible for the Holy Church to produce holy priests. Help us through Your Immaculate Heart, O sorrowful Mother, who is burning with love for us. Amen.

We pray: 3 Our Father... 3 Hail Mary... 3 Glory be - For the sanctification of priests, bishops, and religious; for special guidance and strength for the Holy Father.

Final Prayer : Lord Jesus Christ, you have sent us Your Mother as a wonderful example of holiness and mysticism and especially as an ideal and patroness for the priests and religious. We ask you, grant us Your help to imitate Your Most Holy Mother more and more, to become souls of expiation and victim souls for those priests and religious, who fail you: You who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

NOVENA TO ROSA MYSTICA TO REDUCE THE EFFECT OF EVIL IN THE WORLD

DAILY PREPARATIONS

3 Hail Mary...
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee.

DAY ONE
Consider: The extreme opposite to the Rosa Mystica: the dirtiest and most gruesome thing in the world; beauty and ugliness; the destruction of God and man in modern art, by the mass media, in the press, on radio and television; the destruction of all values and order before and in marriage, in education and at school, shameless fashion taken to extreme excesses; all this carried right into our churches and to the holiest places.

We pray: Maria, Rosa Mystica, please protect us from all shamelessness and degeneration, preserve in us the sense for good and evil; prepare us to do battle in defense for all that is pure. Maria, Rosa Mystica, graciously hear us and pray for us.
3 Hail Mary...

Final Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, you have sent us Your Mother as a wonderful example of holiness and mysticism and especially as an ideal and patroness for the priests and religious. We ask you, grant us Your help to imitate Your Most Holy Mother more and more, to become souls of expiation and victim souls for those priests and religious, who fail you: You who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

DAY TWO
Consider: It is not enough to observe how desolate and catastrophic the general situation is. At first, one must oneself be prepared not only to refuse to go with fashion but, as a penance, also to have to put up with something that is not really required, to go without something even if it is not sin. One ought to consider that one could also be guilty of sin committed by others, by setting a bad example for them.

We Pray: Maria, Rosa Mystica, grant that you will give us the true spirit of atonement , to fight the current of evil, to accept more often and voluntarily all the unpleasant things the more others fail you. Maria, Rosa Mystica, graciously hear us and pray for us.
3 Hail Mary...

Amen.

DAY THREE
Consider: Pious pilgrims in particular should note: "The reason prayers often do not bring the expected answer is because too little penance is done with the prayer. "One dresses just as comfortably and lightly as others, and one complains about little daily inconveniences. What would Mary say to this?

We pray: Maria, Rosa Mystica, grant that we do not forget true penance and reparation with all our prayers, at home and on journeys! Please grant us the right spirit when we come to you.

Amen.

DAY FOUR
Consider: How to achieve all the before-mentioned? Two things are needed.
1. Our own effort to take time off, to think and meditate, to move away from television, celebrations, leisure, etc.; to learn to differentiate, to learn to do without; to exercise moderation in food, drink and sleep, etc.;
2. Mediation on the Holy Sacraments and Sacramentals, on the Holy Rosary, the Holy Scriptures, and the life of Saints. In addition, a truly deeply religious and pious father confessor is needed as a spiritual director. This would be by way of one’s own effort, of "active cleansing." God Himself will help us through His Grace and His Guidance even in sorrow, when we are humiliated, disappointed, and suffer set-backs. Become totally free for God; break away from all attachment to the world and people, be free for the incomprehensible Glory of God.

We pray: Maria, Rosa Mystica, grant that you may help us and lead us in our efforts.

Amen.

DAY FIVE
Consider: When God takes everything away from man which blocks his path to God; when He helps you to leave everything; when He takes away one’s close attachment to people and things, even one’s consolation; when He leads you into the very darkest "night of the spirit" without any consolations; when there is nothing but darkness and sorrow, and when one can still say like lSt. Therese of the Child Jesus or Padre Pio: " I believe", then all natural things and created things are removed, and God is able to let flow the abundance of His Graces, knowledge and charism into one’s body and soul without hindrance.

We pray: Let us dare to offer this prayer with its full weight and accept its possible consequences as Brother St. Klaus, the patron saint of Switzerland, once prayed: "My Lord and my God, take everything from me, everything that may prevent me from coming to you Give me everything that brings me close to you. Take me and do with me as you please!"

Amen.

DAY SIX
Consider: Together with Brother Klaus and the great Carmelites, St. John of the Cross, St. Theresa of Jesus (of Avila), and St. Therese of the Child Jesus, we are now on the right path of our true devotion of Mary, the veneration of the "Rosa Mystica", the "Mystical Rose" , and we may speak the words of St. Louis de Montfort; "The quickest and easiest way to mysticism is Mary- the rose of Mysticism". At the same time we must, however, prevent ourselves from falling under the widely-spread isunderstanding to believe that x-many recited rosaries together with x-many pilgrimages and devotions have now given us the "ticket to Heaven", otherwise we deceive ourselves! St. Louis de Montfort knows very well how to differentiate between faked and genuine Marian devotion; not just any way leads to mysticism! A whole list of wrong ways of Marian devotions are mentioned by him: e.g. The anxious way, the impertinent way, the superficial way, the selfish way (how much selfishness that is in spiritual intentions!), etc. Devotion to Mary must be genuine, needs inner preparation and cooperation; it needs devotion that is really trying hard not only to recite casually x-many beautiful prayers and "devotions" but also to inhale the real spirit of Mary; to do everything "with Mary, in Mary, for Mary "; to ask oneself consciously and with your innermost heart: "What does Mary want from me? What would She do in my palace? How can I please Her? What would She certainly disagree with?" What changes would occur in the world, in the life of a person, in families, societies, and in nations if one were really prepared to be led by Mary.

We Pray: Maria, Rosa Mystica, help us to get to know you more and more, lead us and guide us that we may be able to find the path to your mysticism.
3 Hail Mary...

Amen.

DAY SEVEN
Consider: There is very little written in the Scriptures about mysticism (supernatural unity with God) in Mary’s life on earth, and in Her transformation. Some general remarks only: "Blessed , full of grace." The conception in Her womb-judging by the text in the Bible- can only be surmised with deepest reverence; In any event something extremely great and mysteriously enchanting happened when the infinite, eternal love was united with the most loving human heart that ever existed, and will ever exist; united in order to create a tiny yet infinitely great being. However, we do not only possess the bible. The dogmas, the meditations and writings of our great theologians and fathers of the Church, the revelations to mystics, whether male or female, all of them open the seed for us which is already contained in the Holy Scriptures, full of meaning. There are still the many different apparitions of Our Lady in the world, and Her revelations. There would be no end if we want to recount all the wonderful results and consequences which happened as a result of them: Her knowledge of the human heart, of a single person, of whole groups, nations and ideologies (e.g. Communism); Her insight into church world politics; Her blinding beauty and overwhelming goodness; Her geniality and knowledge of languages... Just incredible; high and exalted above all artists and Nobel prize winners...The results of mysticism are powerful.

We pray: Maria, Rosa Mystica, grant that mankind may find its way to the most beautiful things, to the glories of the supernatural that surpass nature itself. Please give us the fervour to seek this wonderful Divinity and to lead others to it so that they may learn to recognize how poor the delights and desires of this world are compared with Mary, the "Rosa Mystica"

Amen.

DAY EIGHT
Consider: The effects of the Rosa Mystica in us. The more we are prepared to walk the path with Mary, the path She walked Herself, with inner devotion, with merciless self-control, in renunciation of all superficial pleasures; the more we work apostolically in Her spirit; the more we imitate what is contained in the mysteries of the Holy Rosary and mentioned in the Church’s prayer for the Feast of the Holy rosary, the more we shall then "receive what they promise". This then is our request, our

We pray: O God , whose only begotten son has prepared for us the treasures of eternal salvation through His Life, His Death and Resurrection grant we beseech You that when we meditate on the mysteries of the Holy Rosary of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary and imitate what they contain, we shall receive what they promise through Christ, Our Lord.

Amen.

DAY NINE
Consider: The special intention of the Mother of God: vocations to priesthood and religious life.
Even if every Christian is called to holiness and mysticism, it is of even greater meaning and importance for the priests and religious. They should venerate and imitate their ideal, Mary, the Rosa Mystica, in a special way; and this is something that is missing quite often, most of all in our seminaries, monasteries and convents. It ought, therefore, to be a special apostolate to spread the purpose and meaning of this devotion in those houses, for nowhere more saints and mystics are needed that there. The task of the laity will be to replace what is missing, through their own apostolate and a more zealous imitation of the Rosa Mystica!

We pray: 3 Our Father... 3 Hail Mary... 3 Glory be - For the sanctification of priests, bishops, and religious; for special guidance and strength for the Holy Father.

Amen.

These Novenas may be offered in: (a) Any nine consecutive days; (b) Nine consecutive weeks (Saturday would be a good day of the week to choose for the weekly Novena); (c) Nine consecutive months (the 13th of each month would be a good day of the month to offer the prayer of the Novena corresponding to that month).; or (d) The nine days leading to the 13th of any particular month. That is - starting the novena on the 5th of the month with the last day of the Novena being the 13th of the same month.

DAILY PREPARATION
Maria Rosa Mystica, fragrant rose of mysticism, wonderful flower of divine knowledge, of purity and blinding beauty, of brilliant, shining glory, of power and overwhelmingly blessing love: we kneel before you to pray , to look, to listen; to look at you and to inhale your heavenly perfume until we have, above all, taken something of your immaculate, pure, and perfect being into our inner selves; to pray that we should no longer, or above all, ask only for your gifts, for the salvation of, and help for, our body and soul; but to pray that we may become like you; that we may listen attentively and closely to every single word of yours which you have spoken not only in the past but even more so in the present, more frequently and more imploringly.

3 Hail Mary...

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee.

Maria Rosa Mystica - Mystical Rose, Immaculate Conception - Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ - Mother of Grace - Mother of the Mystical Body, of the Church... You came down on earth to call upon us children of this earth to love each other, to unite, and live in peace. You request from us charity, prayer, and penance. We thank god from the bottom of Our hearts that He has given you to us as Our Mother and Mediatrix in all our needs. Mary, full of grace, please help me, I beseech you, and grant me my special intention... (at this point clearly and specifically request from Our Mother the favor that you are seeking from Her)

You promised us your motherly protection, full of graces: "I am always very close to you with My motherly love." Rosa Mystica, Immaculata, Mater Dolorosa, please show me that you are my Mother, Bride of the Holy Ghost, and Queen of Heaven and Earth. Amen.

Hail Holy Queen...

Amen.

NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF LA SALETTE

Our Lady's apparition at La Salette was on the nineteenth of September, the novena offered in her name is usually prayed on the eleventh to the nineteenth of each month.
May Our Lady of La Salette guide you and God bless you.

This novena is based on the message of Our Lady of La Salette.
Each day
1) Scripture quote for reflection;
2) Words from the apparition dialogue of Mary at La Salette;
3) Meditation;
4) Prayer;
5) After mentioning your intention, pray the Lord's Prayer and the Hail Mary;
6) Closing prayer (La Salette invocation).

DAY ONE
Theme: Welcome
Scripture Says: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light." (Mt. 11: 28, 30)
Mary Said: "Come near, my children."

Meditation: What a wonderful invitation! In all simplicity Mary at La Salette calls the two children to come near. Her words echo her Son's invitation to come to him that we may find rest from our burdens and refreshment for our spirits. This too is Mary's desire: that her children-meaning us as well- should feel welcomed and loved. Mary wishes us to come nearer to God who desires only good for us. We must approach and listen to her words, spoken with the love and concern of Jesus. She and her Son wish that during this La Salette Novena of prayer we may "have life and have it more abundantly." (John 10:10) This is a wonderful outcome from this special time of prayer-that we would feel at home and sense the fullness of life God wishes for us. [Quiet Reflection]

Our Prayer: Virgin Mother of La Salette, we approach your loving Son with confidence. We place before our Savior our labors and burdens, our thoughts and feelings, words and actions, during these days of prayer and reflection. May Christ ease our burdens, and fill us with his presence. With faith, we ask for his blessings on us and on those whom we hold close to our hearts. [Mention Intention]
Pray: the Lord's Prayer and Hail Mary
Invocation: Our Lady of La Salette, Reconciler of Sinners, pray without ceasing for us who have recourse to you.

DAY TWO
Theme: Freedom from Fear
Scripture Says: "Do not fear, Mary, for you have found favor with God." (Luke 1: 30)
Mary Said: "Do not be afraid."

Meditation: At her Annunciation, Mary's initial response to the presence and words of the angel was anxious fear. She could easily sympathize with the reaction of fear which overcame the two children at her sudden appearance on the Holy Mountain of La Salette. Her words, like those of the angel, were most welcome and reassuring. Mary, who was relieved of her fears, now relieves us of our own. She who "found favor with God," in turn finds favor for us. Mary who knew the God of her ancestors as a God of power and might now encounters God in a personal and intimate way. At La Salette she speaks from that privileged relationship with God to teach us that we too are "beloved of the Father." Saint John declares "perfect love drives out fear." (1 John 4: 18) Mary came to know that "perfect love" as her own Son. May he cast out our fear as well, and perfect his love in us. [Quiet Reflection]

Our Prayer: Remember, Mother of Sorrows, how often fear keeps us from God. Lovingly guide us to Jesus, the source of grace. As we take comfort in your invitation to draw ever closer to your Son, may your words melt our hearts, dispel our fears, and increase his peace within us. [Mention Intention]
Pray: the Lord's Prayer and Hail Mary
Invocation: Our Lady of La Salette, Reconciler of Sinners, pray without ceasing for us who have recourse to you.

DAY THREE
Theme: Joy
Scripture Says: "The angel of the Lord appeared to (the shepherds) and said, 'Behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.'" (Luke 2: 10)
Mary Said: "I am here to tell you great news."

Meditation: The good news spoken to Mary at her Annunciation brought forth a prayer of praise. This prayer, the Magnificat, not only expresses her deep joy and the conviction of her strong faith; it also recounts how God cares for and helps the needy, the downtrodden, the lost. Like the Gospel, the message of Mary at La Salette is one of good news. Her words announce great joy-the joy of our salvation: sin is forgiven, death is destroyed, a broken world has been renewed. The angels announced the Good News of Jesus' birth-God breaking forth into our world. Mary at La Salette reminds us that God continues to break into our world, restoring and renewing the face of the earth. This is the Good News! This is the source of our joy! [Quiet Reflection]

Our Prayer: Gentle Virgin of La Salette, you urge us to find joy in God our Savior. Gladly we hear your words and pledge to spread this good news. May our lives give glory to your Son and be filled with joy in serving Christ, now and forever. [Mention Intention]
Pray: the Lord's Prayer and Hail Mary
Invocation: Our Lady of La Salette, Reconciler of Sinners, pray without ceasing for us who have recourse to you.

DAY FOUR
Theme: Rest
Scripture Says: "Six days you may labor and do all your work; but the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord, your God... For remember that you too were once slaves in Egypt, and the Lord, your God, brought you from there with his strong hand and outstretched arm. That is why the Lord, your God, has commanded you to observe the sabbath day." (Deuteronomy 5: 13, 14a, 15)
Mary Said: "I gave you six days to work; I kept the seventh for myself..."

Meditation: Yes, the seventh day belongs to God and God shares this gift with us. This consecrated time is meant to free us from the vicious cycle of production and consumerism. It points us to the greater reality of God's presence and our life of grace. We are restored to the divine image. The One who made the heavens and the earth has reserved this day for himself to remind us that we are "[God's] children in Christ". (Romans 8:16) This day, then, is also meant to restore our community. In sharing the Body of Christ we are called to be the Body of Christ. We are given into one another's care as were Jesus' mother and disciple at the foot of his cross. [Quiet Reflection]

Our Prayer: Faithful Virgin of La Salette, you uphold our dignity as free people and as children of God. May the Day of the Lord shine on us and give meaning to our work and our relationships so that in Jesus Christ we may give thanks to God. [Mention Intention]
Pray: the Lord's Prayer and Hail Mary
Invocation: Our Lady of La Salette, Reconciler of Sinners, pray without ceasing for us who have recourse to you.

DAY FIVE
Theme: True Fasting
Scripture Says: "This, rather, is the fasting that I wish: releasing those bound unjustly, untying the thongs of the yoke; setting free the oppressed, breaking every yoke; sharing your bread with the hungry, sheltering the oppressed and the homeless; clothing the naked when you see them, and not turning your back on your own." (Isaiah 58: 6-7)
Mary Said: "If the harvest is ruined, it is only on account of yourselves. I warned you last year. You paid no heed! Instead, you swore. The rest will do penance through the famine!"

Meditation: Mary's message startles us to an awareness of the evils of our world and to our own indifference. Today two-thirds of the world suffers or dies from hunger. Human rights are ignored across the face of the earth and injustice lies on our very doorstep. These signs cry out for our response. If we listen to and act upon her words and those of her Son, she promises that one day Jesus will say to us: "Come, you who are blessed by my Father. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me whatever you did for one of these least...of mine, you did for me." (Matthew 25: 34a, 35-36, 40b) [Quiet Reflection]

Our Prayer: Mother of Compassion, open our eyes to the sufferings of our sisters and brothers. Open our hearts and hands to share with these most needy of your children the plenteous blessings of this earth. Inspired by your words, Mary, may your people continue to nourish and heal, to love and forgive, to build the world our God desires. [Mention Intention]
Pray: the Lord's Prayer and Hail Mary
Invocation: Our Lady of La Salette, Reconciler of Sinners, pray without ceasing for us who have recourse to you.

DAY SIX
Theme: Promised Blessings
Scripture Says: "The desert and the parched land will exult; the steppe will rejoice and bloom. They will bloom with abundant flowers, and rejoice with joyful song. They will see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God." (Isaiah 35: 1-2)
Mary Said: "If (my people) are converted, rocks and stones will turn into heaps of wheat..."

Meditation: Jesus who opens the eyes of the blind and makes the lame dance, comes to restore us to life. The constant temptation is to harden our hearts and narrow our vision, so that we miss his very presence.
Let us come to Jesus, who is the Way to follow, the Truth to be discovered, the Life to be enjoyed and shared. He is the One who can make the desert of our heart-and of our world-bloom and bear abundant fruit.
Mary's apparition on the barren slope of La Salette has unleashed a stream of life-giving water, bearing the promise of refreshment and renewal. Heeding Mary's call to conversion makes our own lives rich and fruitful. [Quiet Reflection]

Our Prayer: Virgin Reconciler, may your unceasing prayer and loving concern for us bear fruit in the constant conversion of our minds and hearts. May our lives burst forth anew with love for your Son. May we obtain the blessings you and your Son have promised and faithfully give him thanks as our Savior and Lord. [Mention Intention]
Pray: the Lord's Prayer and Hail Mary
Invocation: Our Lady of La Salette, Reconciler of Sinners, pray without ceasing for us who have recourse to you.

DAY SEVEN
Theme: Prayer
Scripture Says: "Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus." (I Thessalonians 5: 16-18)
Mary Said: "Do you say your prayers well, my children? You should say them well, at night and in the morning...(people) go to Mass just to make fun of religion. In Lent they go to the butcher shops like dogs."

Meditation: The Virgin at La Salette questions us on the quality of those gestures of faith which link us to God, and serve as the source of our ongoing conversion. Each day, we are invited to express in prayer our free and constant dialogue with God. We remember the words of Jesus' own prayer: "Father...not my will but yours be done." (Luke 22: 42) Each week, we are called to celebrate the Eucharist, the central memorial of the death and resurrection of Christ. The presence of the Risen Lord in our gathering revives our faith, and helps us wait in hope until he comes again. Each year, our Lenten penance, prayer and sharing strengthens our faith. With renewed vigor, we give our lives to God daily in service to our sisters and brothers. [Quiet Reflection]

Our Prayer: Mary, first disciple of Jesus, make our lives a living prayer. May we always be ready to pray, to celebrate God's presence and to follow Jesus faithfully every day. Hold us close beside you in the heart of hte Church, ready to share the struggles and sufferings of all your people. [Mention Intention]
Pray: the Lord's Prayer and Hail Mary
Invocation: Our Lady of La Salette, Reconciler of Sinners, pray without ceasing for us who have recourse to you.

DAY EIGHT
Theme: Bread of Life
Scripture Says: Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst." (John 6: 35)
Mary Said: "But you, (Maximin), surely you must have seen some (spoiled wheat) once, at (the field of) Coin...your father gave you a piece of bread and said to you: 'Here, my child, eat some bread while we still have it this year...'"

Meditation: The fear of a future evil, the carefree attitude of a child, the concern of parents for their family, the sharing of bread-all details of life held in the memory and heart of the Virgin Mary at La Salette. Her solicitude invites us to trust in her concern for our welfare. Her loving Son, Jesus, also reminded people how much our Heavenly Father watches out for our welfare. "If you, then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him." (Matthew 7:11)
The promise of shared bread and good gifts is a consoling message. This pledge reminds us that the Bread of Life willingly broke and gave himself to satisfy our deepest hunger for God. He continues to do so, and invites us to do the same. [Quiet Reflection]

Our Prayer: Mother, ever attentive to our needs, awaken in us compassion for the hungry and the needy. Help us to share our Creator's concern for all human hungers-of body, heart, or spirit. Give us always a yearning for the Bread of Life, Jesus, your Son and our Lord. [Mention Intention]
Pray: the Lord's Prayer and Hail Mary
Invocation: Our Lady of La Salette, Reconciler of Sinners, pray without ceasing for us who have recourse to you.

DAY NINE
Theme: Our Mission
Scripture Says: Then Jesus said to them, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of (time)." (Matthew 28: 18-20)
Mary Said: "Well, my children, you will make this known to all my people."

Meditation:
As Mary challenges and encourages us to follow her Son, she reminds us of our mission. We are to bring to the whole world the Good News of Jesus Christ. Marked by his Spirit and consecrated in truth and love, the followers of Jesus work together to advance the Kingdom of God. The "great news" of Mary is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Like Mary, as we hear and bear the Word of God, we carry on the mission of Jesus, the mission entrusted to his apostles and to all the baptized. Such is our mission-so plain and simple that it was entrusted to two young children on the mountain of La Salette.
With maternal concern, the Virgin encourages us one final time: "Well, my children, you will make this known to all my people." [Quiet Reflection]

Our Prayer: Mother of the Church, watch over us, your people. Help us who have heard the Word of God to proclaim it in word and deed. As you were filled with the Spirit and gave birth to the Savior, may we, filled with that same Spirit, advance the kingdom of unity and peace for which Jesus gave his life on the cross. [Mention Intention]
Pray: the Lord's Prayer and Hail Mary
Invocation: Our Lady of La Salette, Reconciler of Sinners, pray without ceasing for us who have recourse to you.

NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF SORROWS/TEARS

Here are seven graces the Blessed Virgin Mary grants to souls who honor Her daily by saying seven Hail Marys and meditating on Her tears and Dolors(sorrows). The devotion was passed to us by Saint Bridget.

1. I will grant peace to their families.
2. They will be enlightened about the divine mysteries.
3. I will console them in their pains and I will accompany them in their work.
4. I will give them as much as they ask for as long as it does not oppose the Adorable Will of my Divine Son or the sanctification of their souls.
5. I will defend them in their spiritual battles with the infernal enemy and I will protect them at every instant of their lives.
6. I will visibly help them at the moment of their death, they will see the face of their mother.
7. I have obtained (this Grace) from my Divine Son, that those who propagate this devotion to my tears and Dolors, will be taken directly from this earthly life to eternal happiness since all their sins will be forgiven and my Son will be their eternal consolation and joy.

NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF KNOCK

Give praise to the Father Almighty,
To His Son, Jesus Christ the Lord,
To the Spirit who lives in our hearts,
Both now and forever. Amen.

Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland, you gave hope to your people in a time of distress and comforted them in sorrow. You have inspired countless pilgrims to pray with confidence to your Divine Son, remembering His promise, "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find."

Help me to remember that we are all pilgrims on the road to Heaven. Fill me with love and concern for my brothers and sisters in Christ, especially those who live with me. Comfort me when I am sick, lonely or depressed.

Teach me how to take part ever more reverently in the Holy Mass. Give me a greater love of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Pray for me now, and at the hour of my death.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, Have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, Have mercy of us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, Grant us peace.

Pray for us!

NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP #3

O Mother of Perpetual Help, thou art the dispenser of all the gifts which God grants to us, miserable sinners; and for this end He has made thee so powerful, so rich and so bountiful, in order that thou mayest succor us in our misery. Thou art the advocate of the most wretched and abandoned sinners, who have recourse to thee; come to my help, I commend myself to thee. In thy hands I place my eternal salvation, and to thee I entrust my soul. Count me among thy most devoted servants; take me under thy protection, and it is enough for me. For, if thou protect me, I fear nothing; not from my sins, because thou wilt obtain for me the pardon of them; not from the devils, because thou art more powerful than all hell together; not even from Jesus, my Judge, because by one prayer from thee He will be appeased. But one thing I fear; in the hour of temptation, I may through negligence fail to have recourse to thee, and thus perish miserably. Obtain for me, therefore, the pardon of my sins, love for Jesus, final perseverance, and the grace ever to have recourse to thee, O Mother of Perpetual Help!

Recite: 3 Hail Marys

NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP #2

(Pray for 9 consecutive days)

O Mother of Perpetual Help, grant that I may ever invoke Thy most powerful name, which is the safeguard of the living and the salvation of the dying. O Purest Mary, O Sweetest Mary, let Thy name henceforth be ever on my lips. Delay not, O Blessed Lady, to help me whenever I call on Thee, for, in all my needs, in all my temptations I shall never cease to call on Thee, ever repeating Thy sacred name, Mary, Mary. O what consolation, what sweetness, what confidence, what emotion fill my soul when I pronounce Thy sacred name, or even only think of Thee. I thank God for having given Thee, for my good, so sweet, so powerful, so lovely a name. But I will not be content with merely pronouncing Thy name: let my love for Thee prompt me ever to hail Thee, Mother of Perpetual Help. Amen.
(recite 9 Hail Marys)

NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP #1

See at your feet, O Mother of Perpetual Help, a poor sinner who has recourse to you and confides in you. O Mother of Mercy, have pity on me! I hear you called the refuge and the hope of sinners; be my refuge and my hope. Help me, for the love of Jesus Christ; stretch forth your hand to a poor, fallen creature who recommends himself/herself to you, and who devotes himself/herself to your service forever. I bless and thank Almighty God, who in His mercy has given me this confidence in you, which I hold to be a pledge of my eternal salvation. Mary, help me. Mother of Perpetual Help, never allow me to lose my God.
Pray 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory Be... (3 times)

THE PERPETUAL NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF ARABIA

The devotion to Our Lady of Arabia started on the day on which a Chapel in Her honour was dedicated in Ahmadi: December 8, 1948.

OPENING PRAYER
V: Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful, and kindle in them the fire of Thy love. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created.
R: And Thou shall renew the face of the earth.

LET US PRAY:

V: O Mary, Dear Mother, we call thee 'Our Lady of Arabia' to ask for thy blessing upon this country, and for thy loving protection on us. Keep ever thy child near Jesus in the happiness of sanctifying grace. Amen.

MEMORARE
Remember, O most compassionated Virgin Mary, That never was it known that any one who fled to thy Protection, implored thy assistance or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this Confidence, we fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, our Mother; to thee we come; before thee we kneel, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, Despise not our petitions, but in thy clemency hear and answer them. Amen. (Favors asked for)

INTERCESSORY PRAYERS
1. For our relations and friends:
V: O God, Who, by the grace of the Holy Spirit didst pour the Gifts of charity into the hearts of Thy faithful, grant Thy servants and handmaids, for whom we entreat Thy Mercy, health of mind and body that they may love Thee with all their strength and by perfect love may do what is pleasing to Thee.
R: Cause of our joy Pray for us

2. For sick persons recommended to our prayers:

R: Health of the sick Pray for us

3. For everyone in need:

4. For the Pope and the Missions:
V: Almighty, Eternal God, By Whose judgment all things are ruled, mercifully regard our prayers, and by Thy goodness preserve our Pontiff Pope Benedict XVI, chosen by Thee, that Christian people, who are governed by Thy authority, may increase the merits of their faith and their number, under so great a Pontiff.
R: Help of Christians, Pray for us

5. For the conversion of the world and for peace around the world
V: Almighty, Everlasting God, In Whose Hands rest every power and the government of all nations, look in Thy mercy, upon that people once so devout, and lead them back to Thy law; overcome we beseech Thee all human wickedness and assure to Thy faithful the benefits of enduring peace.
R: Queen of Peace, Pray for us

6. For our deceased relatives and for souls in Purgatory:
O God, Who grants forgiveness and desires the salvation of mankind: we beseech Thee, in Thy Mercy, to grant that our brethren, kinsfolk and benefactors who have passed out of this life, by the intercession of the Blessed Mary, ever Virgin, and all Thy Saints, may partake of everlasting bliss.
R: Gate of heaven, Pray for us

7. For ourselves:
O Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of our Lord Jesus and our Mother, penetrated with the most lively confidence in thy all powerful and never failing intercession, we thy loving and trustful children implore thee to obtain for us thy graces and favors we ask during this Novena, if they be beneficial to our immortal souls, thou knowest, O Mary, how often our souls have been sanctuaries of Thy Son who hates iniquity. Obtain for us then a deep hatred of sin and that purity of heart which will attach us to God alone so that our every thought, word and deed may tend to His greater glory. Obtain for us also a spirit of prayer and self-denial that we may recover by penance what we have lost by sin and at length attain to that blessed abode where thou art the Queen of Angels and of men. Amen.
R: Mother most amiable, Pray for us

A PLEA FOR THE TRIUMPH OF OUR LADY
O Mary, Immaculate Mother of God, Whom the Angels and Saints attend in heavenly bliss, we hail thee as Queen of Heaven and Earth; we beseech thee to proclaim thy sovereignty over the souls of men. By the divine Grace, of which thou art the kindly channel, obtain that every soul may in truth know God, that every heart may in humility surrender to Him. O, do thou, our Mother, establish in each of us thy abode of love, that from thee all our joys may spring, in thee all our troubles may be calmed, through thee all our prayers may confidently rise. Hasten, O powerful Queen, to conquer the world in the peace of thy love, for the splendor of thy crown in the glorious advent of universal reign of thy divine Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord!

THE MAGNIFICAT
My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior. Because He hath regarded the humility of His handmaid: for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For He that is mighty hath done great things to me, and Holy is His name. And His mercy is from generation unto generations to them that fear Him. He hath showed might in His arm: he hath scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart. He hath put down the mighty from their seat; and hath exalted the humble. He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich He hath sent empty away. He hath received Israel His servant; being mindful of His mercy. As he spoke to our fathers; to Abraham and to his seed for ever.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

CONCLUDING PRAYER
We offer up to Thee, O Lord, This service of praise, rejoicing in the glory of the Mother of Thy Son, invoked as Our Lady of Arabia; for we trust in her protection to get rescue from all evils, whether of the present time or of that yet to come. Amen.

MARY, "THE MOTHER OF FORGIVENESS" (NOVENA)

Daily Prayer
"Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, I ask for the willingness to forgive and the grace to forgive immediately all who have sinned against me. On Calvary, You gave Mary the grace to forgive me for my part in killing her Son. Then you gave Mary the grace to become my mother (Jn 19:26-27).

Mary, Mother of Forgiveness, may I forgive others as you forgave me in imitation of your Son. Mary, take my hand and lead me as I decide to accept God's grace to forgive (name the person) for (name the sin), etc.
Jesus, thank You for giving me Mary, 'Mother of Forgiveness' to be my mother.
'Mary, Mother of Forgiveness,' pray for me."

DAY ONE
Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, and by the power of the Spirit, I thank You for forgiving me of an unimaginable debt of sin. May I accept Your grace to pass on this forgiveness to others (see Mt 18:32-33).

Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness" help me to recognize my sins, know better the effects of my sins, and realize that I had a part in Jesus' crucifixion and death.
Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," pray for me. (Daily prayer)

DAY TWO
Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, and by the power of the Spirit, I pray for the willingness to forgive all those who have sinned against me. I know Your grace to forgive is always available to me and therefore is available at this moment. You are waiting for me. I repent of my unwillingness to forgive.

Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," pray for me to forgive immediately as you did 70 x 7 when Jesus, Joseph, and you were rejected and looked down on throughout your days and years as a housewife in Nazareth.
Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," pray for me. (Daily prayer)

DAY THREE
Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, and by the power of the Spirit, teach me the true meaning of forgiveness. I repent of changing the meaning of forgiveness to make it humanly possible.

Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," thank and praise the Lord with me forever for the miracle of forgiveness. "To err is human, to forgive is divine." No one can forgive by human power. Forgiveness is a miracle. Pray for me to receive the miracle of forgiveness you received on Calvary at the foot of the cross.
Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," pray for me. (Daily prayer)

DAY FOUR
Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, and by the power of the Spirit, You are rich in mercy (Eph 2:4). Mercy is always given in Your forgiveness. Lord, have mercy on the merciful (Mt 5:7).

Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," you are also "the Mother of Mercy." May I treat those who have sinned against me with mercy, that is, treat them better than they deserve. I don't deserve to have you as my mother. Thank you.
Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," pray for me. (Daily prayer)

DAY FIVE
Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, and by the power of the Spirit, as I forgive graciously and am forgiven by You in the same way (Mt 6:12), give me a great love and joy in going to Confession.

Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness", encourage me to go to Confession at least monthly and invite others to do the same. Mother me as you mothered the apostles in the upper room before the first Christian Pentecost.
Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," pray for me.(Daily prayer)
(Remember to fast during part of the novena.)

DAY SIX
Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, and by the power of the Spirit, now that I have received the miracle of forgiveness, heal me in every way, especially heal my memories.

Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," pray that the Lord will remove from me the sting of painful memories as He healed your memories of me in my sinfulness.
Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," pray for me. (Daily prayer)

DAY SEVEN
Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, and by the power of the Spirit, each year in recent times countless thousands of Christians are being martyred for love of You. Thank you for giving these martyrs the grace to forgive.

Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," pray for me to forgive as you forgave Judas, Peter, the apostles, Pontius Pilate, the high priests, and me.
Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," pray for me. (Daily prayer)

DAY EIGHT
Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, and by the power of the Spirit, I pray that I will be a messenger of reconciliation (2 Cor 5:18). After I have forgiven those who have sinned against me, send me forth to pray, preach, and teach that all will forgive all people for all sins committed against them. Make me a witness of your miracle of forgiveness.

Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," pray for me to help others to forgive as you helped the Christians in the early Church to forgive their persecutors.
Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," pray for me. (Daily prayer)

DAY NINE
Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, and by the power of the Spirit, at the next Mass I pray, let me see a glimpse of Your infinite forgiveness and mercy.

Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," pray for me to love the body and blood of Jesus. May I go to Mass daily or as often as possible, and may I never go to a Mass without forgiving all who have sinned against me. Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," I will do whatever Jesus tells me (Jn 2:5).
Mary, "the Mother of Forgiveness," pray for me. (Daily prayer)

NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF GOOD SUCCESS

Act of Repentance
I believe in Thee, O my God. Strengthen, O Lord, my faith. I hope in Thee, O my God. Affirm, O Lord, my hope. I love Thee, O my God; increase, O Lord, my love. I repent of having offended Thee. O my God, help me to have contrition, so that with the help of Thy grace and the powerful patronage of Holy Mary of Good Success, I may never sin again. O Lord, have pity and mercy on me. Amen.

Opening Prayer
O most Excellent and Immaculate Queen of Heaven, Holy Mary of Good Success, most favored Daughter of the Eternal Father, most beloved Mother of the Divine Son, most cherished Spouse of the Holy Spirit, sublime Throne of the Divine Majesty, August Temple of the Holy Trinity, in whom the Three Divine Persons have placed the treasures of Their Power, Wisdom and Love!

Remember, Virgin Mary of Good Success, whom God hath made so great so that thou canst give succor to miserable sinners; remember that thou hast often promised to show thyself a merciful Mother to those who have recourse to thee. I come to thee then, Mother most merciful, and I beg thee, for thy love of the Most High, that thou should obtain for me from God the Father a lively Faith that never loses sight of the eternal truths; from the Son, a firm Hope that always aspires to reach that glory that He won for me with His Blood; and from the Holy Ghost, a charity so inflamed that I will always live loving the Supreme Goodness and thee, Most Holy Virgin, until through thy intervention I will love and enjoy thee eternally in glory. Amen.

We salute thee Mary, as the Favored Daughter of God the Father. Hail Mary...
We salute thee Mary, as the Chosen Mother of the Divine Son. Hail Mary...
We salute thee Mary, as the Singular Spouse of the Holy Ghost. Hail Mary...
Glory be to the Father...

Day 1 TO 9 PRAYERS
Act of Thanksgiving to the Blessed Virgin (To be said each day of the novena)

O Virgin blessed among all women! We lack the words to give thee thanks for the innumerable blessings that we have received from thy hand. The day of thy birth can be called the day of thanksgiving, happiness, and consolation. Thou art the honor of mankind, the joy of Paradise, the beloved gift of God, and the well-being of our country. What merit do we have, Blessed Virgin of Good Success, to deserve to have thee as our Mother? May God be forever blessed Who hath desired it so! Blessed also art thou, Virgin Mary, because despite our ingratitude, thou dost show us thy propitious favor.

Thus art thou, most clement Mother, our consolation on earth, our refuge, our help, and our protection in both our public and private needs. Safeguard us from war, pestilence, hunger, storms, earthquakes, and all the calamities that we merit by our guilt. Pray for the Holy Church and for her visible head. Hear the supplications of those who invoke thee. Be thou our Advocate, our Mother, for as thus do we place our confidence in thee. To thee do we have recourse, and through thy intercession we hope to achieve from thy Son pardon for our sins and perseverance in grace until death. Amen.

Here, each one raising up his heart to God, should ask, through the intercession of Blessed Mary of Good Success, that grace or favor which he desires to receive.

R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Final Prayer
We ask thee, our Lord and God, that Thou grant us health of soul and body through the intercession of the glorious Virgin Mary. Through her merits and those of her sovereign Child Jesus, we hope to be freed from the present evils and to attain eternal happiness. Amen.

DAY ONE
O Lord of infinite goodness, by the miraculous making of this image of Mary Most Holy, Thou hast given us a powerful intercessor to whom we might have recourse with total confidence in her amiable protection in our necessity. Grant us the assistance that we are asking with fervor and confidence so that we might know, honor, and serve the Blessed Virgin, and so that by her intercession, we may achieve on this earth our sanctification and afterwards, be happy with her in Heaven. Amen.

DAY TWO
O God, admirable in all Thy works! May Thou always convert the most hazardous occurrences of life into proofs of Thy mercies, and in the most desperate storms may Thou show us the preludes to Thy prodigies in our favor, just as Thou didst with the Minorite brothers by means of that terrifying storm. Grant to us, through the intercession of the Queen of Good Success, the virtue of patience, to suffer with a resigned spirit the trials sent us by Thy Divine Will, because at any moment Thou canst change them to consolations in this life and afterwards grant us Thy eternal reward in Heaven, where we will always sing Thy praise and the praise of Holy Mary. Amen.

DAY THREE
O God of Mercy, Who never leaves desolate one who faithfully and fervently serves Thee amid the misfortunes and dangers of life, and Who leads us to find our Mother and advocate as a refuge in our adversities, grant us a tender and fervent heart to search for Mary and find her, always loving and protective, so that we might serve her and merit, through Thy intercession, to lead a good and Christian life and afterwards be with her forever in Heaven. Amen.

DAY FOUR
O God of infinite love! Thou hast given us in our Mother a precious shelter and consolation, placing her in the pathway of our hazardous lives so that she might be a shield to defend us in persecutions and dangers as Our Mother of Good Success. Thankful for Thy goodness, may we correspond with the practice of virtue and a tender and constant devotion to Mary Most Holy, so that through her intercession we might find Heaven. Amen.

DAY FIVE
O Sovereign God! Thou hast given us Thy highest counsel, the Most Holy Virgin of Good Success, as a companion to accompany us in our pilgrimage, so that she might serve us as guide, guard, and protectress in its conflicts. We go, then, to her, filled with confidence and finding the way easily on the journey to the dwelling of our Eternal Father, where all that we desire will be granted. Enflame our hearts with love for the Most Holy Virgin of Good Success so we might offer them to this Holy Mother with the gift of gratitude, a firm and constant love, and the conquering of our passions by means of the great graces received from Thy merciful Hands. Thus might we always have her favor in this life and her sweet assistance at death so that we might merit eternal salvation. Amen.

DAY SIX
O, inaccessible Light of Supernatural Truth that illuminates our being with its Celestial Splendor and leads us to Thee, having for guide and protection Thy predilect creature Mary Most Holy, illuminate our minds with the light of a firm and living faith. It was such a faith that moved Our Mother of Good Success to appear before the eyes of that blessed Conceptionist religious Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres. Because we are anxious to enjoy supernatural goods, help us to be less concerned about the things of this earth. With the protection of Holy Mary and a constant and sure faith in the revealed mysteries, help us to live contemplating the brilliance of our final end and anticipating the joy of seeing Thee and Mary Most Holy for all eternity. Amen.

DAY SEVEN
O God of goodness, Who dost deign to reward the faith and zealous sentiments of piety of Thy chosen souls with visits of Mary Most Holy, hear also our prayers that the presence of this Statue of Good Success might illuminate our faith and increase our confidence that she will benignly hear our prayers. Grant us an ever increasing faith in Thy paternal goodness; make us ever more confident that we will receive what we ask for. Make us also ever more fervent in our prayers, so that supported by the great valor of our powerful Patroness, we might be freed from the dangers that threaten us, serve Thee better, and win the honor of being in Thy company and that of Mary Most Holy in Heaven for all eternity. Amen.

DAY EIGHT
O God, loving guardian of pious persons, families and Communities, Who in Thy Providence dost guard and protect them because of their attention to prayer and fulfillment of their duties of life, hear now our prayers. Be attentive to our cries, enflame the light of our faith in Thy powerful protection so that we do not fear our enemies. For if Thou assists us, nothing can harm us. Grant us an unlimited confidence in Mary Most Holy of Good Success and the grace of obedience to and observance of our Rule [or to the fulfillment of the duties of our particular state of life], so that we might be worthy of a Mother so holy and a Protectress so powerful. May we always be Thy grateful and docile subjects, so that one day we may sing with glory Thy praises in Heaven, Thou Who hast favored Mary as Daughter, Mother and Spouse of the Most Holy Trinity, the one God Who lives forever and ever. Amen.

DAY NINE
Oh God! Tender Father of Thy creatures Who in every manner demonstrates Thy paternal care and guidance for us, principally by giving us Mary Most Holy as our advocate, protectress, and model ideal of virtue, infuse our hearts with a constant desire to imitate our Mother and Queen, modeling our thoughts, desires, and actions after those of Mary Most Holy so that we might be like Her in all that our fragile nature permits. Assisted by Thy Divine Grace, may we conquer our passions and receive the choicest graces that our Mother grants to her children who confidently come to her as Advocate in their pressing needs. May we find her ready to assist us in the last difficult moment of life, and afterward enjoy the pleasure of her company in Heaven forever and ever. Amen
